These are the stories of my life. I hope they make you laugh, cry, and draw closer to GOD. May you get warm fuzzies when you read them!

What Love Really Means

My Kaylei has done it again, and yes, I still stand amazed.  She used that big ole voice for her Lord and Savior.

We had camp meeting last weekend, for the Church of God for our state.  Our church was responsible for worship on Sunday night.  We have a lot of talented people in our church.  We have an excellent choir with a wonderful minister of music.  We have some very talented people who accompany our choir.  Bass guitar, drums, keyboard, grand piano, and occasionally a flutist.  You can say, that we are a very musical church.  We love to sign praise style worship chorus and some good ole well known hymns with a little extra from the accompanists.

Our minister of music had a few people come to sing prior to the service while people were milling around and shaking hands.  She asked my sweet baby girl to sing, to which Kaylei readily accepted.  She will jump at the chance to sing....whenever.....wherever.  Kaylei chose, yet again, a very grown up song by J. J. Heller titled "What Love Really Means."

The lyrics go something like this....
He cries in the corner where nobody sees
He’s the kid with the story no one would believe
He prays every night “Dear God won’t you please...
Could you send someone here who will love me?”

Who will love me for me?
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me?
‘Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means, what love really means

Her office is shrinking a little each day
She’s the woman whose husband has run away
She’ll go to the gym after working today
Maybe if she was thinner then he would’ve stayed
And she says…

Who'll love me for me?
Not for what I have done or what I will become
Who will love me for me?
‘Cause nobody has shown me what love
What love really means what love really means

He’s waiting to die as he sits all alone
He’s a man in a cell who regrets what he’s done
He utters a cry from the depths of his soul
“Oh Lord, forgive me. I wanna go home”

Then he heard a voice somewhere deep inside
And it said “I know you’ve murdered

And I know you’ve lied
And I've watched you suffer all of your life
And now that you'll listen I'll tell you that I...”

I will love you for you
Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love, the love that you never knew

Love you for you
Not for what you have done or what you will become
I will love you for you
I will give you the love, the love that you never knew.

Isn't it great to know that God loves us so much that he eagerly brings us into his arms the instant we "utter a cry?"  Take some time to actually listen to this song.  It will bless you.
