Well, my baby girl did it again! She used that big ole voice for the glory of her Lord and savior! She sang "Lead Me To The Cross" at church yesterday. If you have never heard it, you really must!
She has been working on it for a couple of months now, and she really has gotten it down. It is a really grown up song, and I must say, it is not an easy choice. There are a lot of notes in it that require a lot of control.
She loved the song, but I was worried it might not be right. I mean Easter was last week, right? The words go something like this:
Savior I come, quiet my soul...Remember.
Redemption's Hill where your blood was spilled
For my ransom!
And everything I once held dear, I count it all as lost.
Chorus
Lead me to the cross where your love poured out
Bring me to my knees. Lord, I lay me down
Rid me of myself, I belong to you
Oh, lead me.... Lead me to the cross!
You were as I, tempted and tried...Human, yeah.
The Word became flesh, for my sin and death
Now You're risen!
And everything I once held dear, I count it all as lost!
Chorus
To your heart, To your heart,
Lead me to your heart
Lead me to your heart
Chorus
Lead me to the cross!
She walked right up to the microphone with a precious smile on her face. The music starts, and she begins to sing. The mic is not on. She keeps on singing, although she is looking down at her mic to try to turn it on. She keeps on singing still. Never missed a beat. Kept right on key! Brother Ron, our preacher, got up and brought her a new mic. She finished out the song hitting all her notes. She really showed what God has given her! She sang with such emotion and passion. She looked like she was in a deep conversation with her Lord.
I know, I'm her Momma, but she really has something special. God, I believe, was smiling down on her throughout the song.
Low and behold, what was the message? Easter continues.....God has a plan for everything. What a perfect song for such a powerful message!!

She is such a blessing, I know you are a proud Momma. I am so glad that she uses her gift to sing for the Lord.
I love that song! And you're right, it's really difficult to sing and I know your baby girl did it justice! :o)
@ Miss Rosie -- I heart you!!
@ Unsoccoer Mom -- Thanks! She almost made her Daddy cry.
