Surely, not me?

I have recently begun teaching a Sunday School class for pre-k through first grade.  I was so shocked to be asked.  I mean, here I am, someone who rarely went to church growing up, and even more rarely, SUNDAY SCHOOL.  How could I reach children?  How could I teach about stories that I had never been told? 

One answer, plain and simple....GOD.  He had placed this opportunity in my path.  I could not ignore the "push" of the Holy Spirit.  I said yes, although, I was TERRIFIED.  I watched the leaving teacher one Sunday, and I dove right in the next Sunday!  YIKES!!  I loved it.  I cannot tell you what a blessing it has been.  I am learning from the youngest in the church.  I feel like I am getting what I never had the chance to as a kid.  I hope, through God, I am changing lives, but I know this is changing mine.

Since then, I have done 3 other lessons.  I cannot imagine not doing it now.  I understand why the last teacher cried when she left the class to do BIGGER things with children's ministry. 

If you ever feel that "push", I urge you to listen and be obedient.  Don't be afraid.  God will guide you through whatever he asks of you.  He's only a prayer away.
