A young man came to her excited about becoming a Christian. He told her that he was so happy to be saved. Although his entire family is Hindu, he became a Christian. He was so overjoyed, that he came home to tell his family the good news. They beat him. He sneaks out of his home to go to church every week. When he returns, they beat him. He still goes every week. He was very proud of a little tag he had on his shirt. She asked what it said, and he replied, "Teacher." Despite all of the opposition, he manages to get to church and teach others.
Another elderly woman who is iliterate and a widow (widows are shunned from their families in India), wanted so badly to witness to others after she had come to know Christ. She walks to different villages with a Bible. She prays for the Holy Spirit to lead her to someone to witness to. She has them read the Bible to her. She has done many great things for the kingdom of God. Who would think that an outcast who cannot read could bring so many to the Word of God?
So when you think you just don't want to go to church this Sunday, or you just can't witness to someone, refer back to this.
Here is the link. They are in great need of your support. It is a great way to show your children how to serve others by helping out. There are a number of things to sponsor from child sponsorship, health and medicine, clothing, food, shelter, education, and rural and economic development. They make great goals to set for your family, church, or workplace. Just food for thought ;)
Jesus did say.....
Matthew 25:35-40 (New International Version)
35 For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, 36 I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.’
37 “Then the righteous will answer him, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? 38 When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? 39 When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?’
40 “The King will reply, ‘Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.’
