So, as I'm fixing my infamous four year old's hair she lets out a profound "Kateism." I'm brushing her hair and putting in her "pinky-tails" and she says to me, "I'm gonna be so SEXY when you get through!" Immediately, I said, "Oh, no, you're not!"
What in the world? Where does she get this stuff? I told her that she would be so precious after I was done, although I was still in shock. After I regained my composure, I reallized that I needed to tell her that she was beautiful inside and out, and it doesn't matter if her "pinky-tails" were in straight or lopsided.
Why would my baby girl worry about being "sexy?" This culture sickens me. My baby girl has a long way to go, and I pray she doesn't use that word again.....ever! Now that I've had my heart attack, I will pray that she doesn't lose sight of what is really important. God, family, compassion for others, and love.
Oh, and I hope she wants me to do "pinky-tails" for many more years to come!

I cringe whenever I hear a child say anything about being "sexy".

I don't know where they are picking it up from, but Katie has been saying "That's Hot" ... really... I'm not amused
